Charges for Services

What fees are associate with using Ventures?

Upon completion of each funding round, Ventures applies a 10% success fee, which is the responsibility of project owners, not users. Ventures' organizational documents anticipate the use of a service provider to support and administer users' activity, and ukiyo collects fees to pay these third-party providers for their services.

Fees associated with using Ventures are payable upon completion of each project funded, and are automatically collected by the Sakura smart contract. Currently, the fee charged is 10% of the funding round, but beyond the 5-year mark, this may be reduced as the protocol aims to achieve maturity and economies of scale. Additionally, the platform seeks to administer projects and funding through a low-cost and efficient model.

Furthermore, the organizational documents of Ventures allow for the use of third-party service providers to facilitate and administrate activities on behalf of the users. As compensation for these services, Ventures may collect rents, which are used to pay these service providers.

Does Ventures charge a carry?

Notably, because Ventures is user managed, it does not have any general partner(s). No user of ukiyo Ventures or third party service providers will be entitled to a carry, unless otherwise agreed to by users.
